Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation and monitoring of production systems and equipment under the supervision of experienced operators.
- Perform routine checks and monitor gauges, meters, and other equipment indicators to ensure proper system performance.
- Support the maintenance team in basic troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment.
- Assist in the startup and shutdown procedures for various production systems.
- Maintain daily logs of production activities, equipment performance, and operational status.
- Follow instructions from senior operators and supervisors, while learning operational processes and safety procedures.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and ensure safe work practices.
Scope of work but not limited to:
- Responsible for day-to-day operational activities, such as monitoring, startup and shutdown of process equipment etc.
- Optimize operational equipment such as compressors, pumps, FPSO tank related work, etc.
- Perform troubleshooting and first line maintenance on process equipment and cascades to the maintenance team for repairs through a work order
- Identify and resolve operating deviations
- Acknowledge, respond to, and initiate corrections/actions to process alarms.
- Maintain reports; update system daily reports.
- Tracks and records the status of the equipment on the facility using the ORD tools.
- Communicates production problems and equipment repair requirements, as appropriate.
- Supports maintenance personnel with isolation & deisolation of equipment for repairs and startup.
- Assists in organizing and directing preventative maintenance and housekeeping activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Complies with all health and safety policies, procedures, practices and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Offshore safety certification (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) is preferred.
- 6-10 years of experience in an operator role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Basic understanding of oil and gas production processes.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform basic operational tasks under supervision.
- Familiarity with process control systems, including monitoring gauges and meters.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to the operational team.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of offshore safety protocols (e.g., emergency response, hazard identification).
