Job Description
- The Production and Exploration Geologist is responsible for supporting the exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources within the asset.
- This role involves analyzing geological data, interpreting subsurface formations, and providing geological insights to optimize production and exploration activities.
- The geologist works closely with the Geoscience Supervisor, Wells Delivery Superintendent, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful identification and exploitation of oil and gas reserves.
- This role reports to the Geoscience Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Geological Data Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret geological and geophysical data from various sources, including well logs, seismic surveys, and core samples.
- Create detailed geological maps, cross-sections, and 3D models to visualize subsurface formations and identify hydrocarbon reservoirs.
- Conduct petrophysical analysis to evaluate reservoir properties and potential productivity.
Exploration Activities
- Participate in the planning and execution of exploration programs, including seismic acquisition and drilling campaigns.
- Identify and evaluate new exploration opportunities within the asset, making recommendations for drilling locations and strategies.
- Assess the geological risks and uncertainties associated with exploration prospects and propose mitigation measures.
Production Optimization
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improving reservoir performance.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers to develop and implement production enhancement strategies, such as well stimulation, recompletion, and enhanced recovery techniques.
- Provide geological input for well planning, including target selection, well trajectory design, and completion strategies.
Technical Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare detailed geological reports, presentations, and technical documents for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of geological data, interpretations, and project activities.
- Ensure proper documentation of all geological studies, analyses, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers to develop and implement production enhancement strategies, such as well stimulation, recompletion, and enhanced recovery techniques.
- Provide geological input for well planning, including target selection, well trajectory design, and completion strategies.
Technical Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare detailed geological reports, presentations, and technical documents for internal and external stakeholders.

- Ensure proper documentation of all geological studies, analyses, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Geology, Geophysics or related field.
- Masters degree is preferred
- Professional certification in geology or related fields is an advantage
- Minimum of 8 years experience in geological analysus, exploration and production within the oil and gas industry
- Proven track record of successful geological evaluations and contributions to exploration and production projects
- Strong technical knowledge of geology, geophysicists and petrophysics
- Proficiency in geological software and tools, such as Petrel, Kingdom, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Stobg understanding of HSE standards and regulatory compliance in the oil and gas industry
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
