The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, national, and industry regulations.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and review HSE policies and risk controls to ensure compliance.
Investigate incidents, conduct training, and enforce safety regulations.
Manage emergency response plans and track safety performance.
Implement environmental management systems and control waste and pollution.
Develop safety training and monitor environmental impact.
Recruit, train, and manage plantation staff and employee relations.
Ensure compliance with environmental laws and sustainability strategies.
Stay updated on regulations and maintain legal compliance.
Conduct HSE training, raise awareness, and promote a safety culture.
Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and report to authorities.
Analyze and report HSE performance to management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Agriculture Science, or related fields.
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Agricultural Economics, related fields (preferred).
Professional certification in Health and Safety is an added advantage
Minimum 5 years of experience in oil palm plantation management.
Experience in managing teams, including supervisory and leadership roles.
