  • The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering history lessons that engage students and encourage a deep understanding of past events, their impact on the present, and the development of critical thinking skills. 

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in history, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire students to explore the past in a meaningful way.



Key Responsibilities




  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate history lessons aligned with the curriculum.

  • Foster a positive, dynamic, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated to learn and participate.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.

  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including discussions, multimedia resources, and group projects, to make lessons engaging and relevant.

  • Encourage students to think critically about historical events and their implications on society.

  • Create and assign projects, essays, and other assessments to evaluate students' understanding and skills.

  • Stay updated on developments in the field of history and incorporate new teaching strategies and content into the classroom.

  • Collaborate with other department staff to ensure cohesive and integrated learning experiences across subjects.

  • Provide extra support and guidance to students who need additional help with history topics.

  • Maintain an organized and effective classroom environment.

  • Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities.



Qualifications and Requirements




  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field.

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching history, preferably at the [specific grade level, e.g., secondary or upper primary].

  • Strong knowledge of the history curriculum and the ability to make it engaging and relevant to students.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

  • Passion for history and the ability to inspire students.
