- Howbury school is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and organized Librarian to join our school community.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school library, promoting a reading culture among students, and providing support to both students and staff in utilizing library resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the school library, including book lending, cataloging, and organizing library materials.
- Develop and maintain a diverse and relevant collection of books, journals, and other educational resources.
- Assist students and staff in finding and utilizing library materials for research, assignments, and personal reading.
- Create and implement programs to encourage reading and literacy development across all grade levels.
- Organize book clubs, reading events, and author visits to engage students and promote a love for reading.
- Collaborate with teachers to support the integration of library resources into the classroom curriculum.
- Conduct library lessons and workshops to teach students research skills, information literacy, and the use of library resources.
- Ensure the library is a safe, welcoming, and quiet space conducive to studying, reading, and learning.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of library books and resources.
- Monitor and manage library usage, ensuring that all materials are properly cared for and returned on time.
- Promote digital literacy and provide access to digital resources and e-books for students.
- Manage library budget and oversee the acquisition of new resources as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, Information Management, Education, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a librarian, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- A passion for reading and a commitment to promoting literacy and learning.
- Familiarity with library management systems and cataloging software.
- Ability to plan and organize library programs and activities.
- Knowledge of current trends in educational technology and digital resources.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
