Job Summary




  • We are seeking a dedicated, passionate, and skilled Year 1 Teacher to join our primary school team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that promote the academic, social, and emotional development of our Year 1 students.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the early years curriculum, a creative approach to teaching, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.



Key Responsibilities




  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum.

  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment to encourage student engagement and learning.

  • Assess and monitor the progress of students, providing feedback to both students and parents.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).

  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians about students' progress and well-being.

  • Create and maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment that supports students' emotional development.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning across the year group.

  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

  • Stay up to date with developments in primary education and incorporate new teaching strategies and technologies into the classroom.

  • Ensure student well-being and manage behavior in accordance with school policies.



Qualifications and Requirements




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Primary Education, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a primary school, preferably with Year 1 or early years students.

  • Strong knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum and early childhood education best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to the academic and personal development of young children.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and parents.

  • A good understanding of child safeguarding and welfare practices.

  • Proficiency with classroom technology and tools.
