Job Summary
- The LED Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of LED display screens and digital billboards used in Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising.
- The role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, LED technology, and digital display operations to ensure high-quality visual output and the uninterrupted performance of advertising screens.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Setup:
- Install and configure LED screens, digital billboards, and electronic display panels at various locations.
- Ensure proper electrical connections, mounting, and alignment of LED screens.
- Work with engineers and site managers to optimize display positioning for visibility.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of LED displays to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues such as faulty LED modules, power supply failures, and wiring problems.
- Troubleshoot software-related issues, including content display errors, network failures, and system malfunctions.
Electrical & Technical Support:
- Perform cabling, soldering, and power distribution for LED screens.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and proper grounding of all installations.
- Monitor power consumption and backup systems to prevent downtime.
Content Management & System Operations:
- Support the uploading, scheduling, and monitoring of digital advertising content.
- Work with the creative and operations team to ensure smooth transitions between ads.
- Perform software updates and system calibrations when required.
Emergency Response & Repairs:
- Provide on-call support for urgent technical issues or screen failures.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools for quick repairs and replacements.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Keep records of installations, maintenance activities, and repair logs.
- Report any major faults, incidents, or system inefficiencies to management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in LED screen installation, maintenance, or electrical engineering.
- Strong knowledge of LED display technology, wiring, and power distribution.
- Experience working with digital signage software and content management systems (CMS).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to work on-site, outdoors, and occasionally at heights.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising or the digital signage industry.
- Familiarity with networking and remote monitoring systems for LED displays.
- Knowledge of basic programming for LED controllers and display systems.
