Job Description

• The Optometrist is responsible for performing vision tests and analyzing results.


• He/she is responsible for diagnosing sight problems and prescribing eyeglasses and other visual aids.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Collect and enter patients data into the database( Acuitas) daily


• Provides outpatient care for patients with eye-related conditions.


• Conducts routine eye examinations, including glaucoma screening.


• Refraction and prescribing the best corrective lenses to suit patients visual needs


• Contact lens fitting and care


• Dispenses eye drops for the patients with minor ocular pathologies.


• Orders lenses from optical vendors.


• Issues prescriptions for spectacles and contact lenses


• Reads off lens prescriptions using the focimeter, to ensure they have the accurate prescription and are properly fitted before dispensing.


• Participates in routine eye screenings for children.

Requirements

Educational Qualification: 

• Doctor of Optometry.

• Must be tech savvy

• Excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.


• Must understand mathematical and scientific information


• Must be able to adapt quickly to new technologies and equipment


• Ability to maintain high levels of concentration

Work Hours:

• Mondays to Saturdays, with 1 saturday off in the month and 1 day off within the week.
