Job Description

• A cashier's main role is tohelp customers check out at a store.


• They may also be known as a retail sales associate, store clerk, or customer service associate.

Responsibilities

• Processing transactions: Operate cash registers, process payments, and issue receipts


• Handling cash: Receive payments, count cash, and balance drawers


• Bagging items: Pack customer purchases


• Maintaining inventory: Stock shelves and keep track of inventory levels


• Helping with returns: Process returns and exchanges


• Helping with other tasks: Assist with other tasks around the store


• Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide a positive experience.

Other responsibilities:

• Promoting customer loyalty programs, Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and keeping records.

Skills

• Math: Be able to count and balance cash


• Customer service: Be friendly, helpful, and able to resolve customer issues
