Job Summary



The Candidate will be responsible for handling both proprietary, and clients’ fixed income/Equity transactions to profitably build the company’s market share of fixed income /Equity transactions in the market, whilst maintaining excellent service levels in trade execution.



Job Details




  1. Develop Proprietary Models: Build Fixed Income/ Equity model portfolios, including proprietary models, and regularly develop investment strategies based on capital market expectations as well as current trends/themes.

  2. Execute Clients’ Mandates: Execute client instructions in respect to either buying or selling fixed income/Equity instruments.

  3. Proprietary Trading: Profitably manage the firm’s proprietary fixed income/Equity book.

  4. Maintain Deal Flow: Use network and experience to support fixed income/ Equity deal flow.

  5. Support Business Development: Development and review of business development proposals for fixed-income mandates for both current and prospective customers, in alliance with the marketing and business development department. The Position Holder is also responsible for preparing sales pitches and providing investment advisory & timely information, in general, to clients.

  6. Market Presentations: Preparing and making regular presentations on the economy, industry trends, portfolio performance and market outlook to Management, Investment Management Committee, institutional clients etc.

  7. Fixed Income/Equity Research: Undertakes thorough research into fixed-income and other investment activities and produces useful reports for both investment activities and investment advisory services. The Position Holder is also responsible for assisting with packaging economic and stock research for dissemination of financial trading platforms.



Requirements




  1. Minimum of 3 years or more in portfolio management/trading related work experience.

  2. Equity markets: Understanding of market microstructure, liquidity, and trading dynamics.

  3. Regulatory framework: Knowledge of NGX, SEC, and global financial market regulations.

  4. Technical and fundamental analysis: Ability to interpret financial statements, earnings reports, and macroeconomic indicators.

  5. SEC Sponsored Individual.

  6. MBA is an added advantage.

  7. Trading & order management systems: Experience with trading platforms and any execution management systems.
