Job Summary:




  • The Account Officer will be responsible for managing various financial tasks, including processing payments, maintaining financial records, and providing excellent customer service to parents. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.



Responsibilities:




  • Customer Service:Address parent inquiries via phone and email promptly and professionally.

  • Payment Processing:Issue receipts, record cash payments, and accurately post transactions to student ledgers.

  • Petty Cash Management:Post and maintain petty cash vouchers.

  • Bank Reconciliation:Perform regular bank statement reconciliations.

  • Loan Management:Maintain and update staff loan information.

  • Financial Record Keeping:Establish and maintain a comprehensive filing system for financial documents.

  • Accounts Receivable:Follow up on outstanding student payments and reconcile debtor accounts.

  • Ledger Reconciliation:Identify and reconcile discrepancies in student ledgers and other financial postings.

  • School Fees Billing:Assist with the preparation and distribution of school fee bills to parents.

  • Edves Portal Management:Post invoices and payments on the Edves portal promptly.

  • General Accounting Support:Perform any other duties as assigned by the Accountant.



Qualifications and Skills:




  • A degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role.

  • Proficiency in basic accounting principles and practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proficient in QuickBooks/Sage 50 and other accounting software.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must have a good understanding of, and respect for, the Christian ethos of the organisation.
