Job Purpose/Objectives
- To maintain rotating and other mechanical equipment safely and efficiently in all Accugas facilities including pipeline network.
- To satisfy the technical integrity target and ensure all mechanical equipment are operated within design limit.

Education/Knowledge
- A minimum of OND, City & Guilds Level 3 certificate in any engineering discipline, with at least five (5) years’ experience in process plant operations in an oil/gas production and processing facility; two (2) of which should have been in a similar role.
Skills & Attributes
- Skilled in the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and components.
- Knowledge of rotating diagnostic tools, equipment, and materials common to the mechanical discipline.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft office packages.
- Must be conversant with PTW system, isolation, de-isolation, LOTO system in the oil/gas industry.
- Good knowledge of oil/gas rotating diagnostic tools, mechanical systems and applicable mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail with an attitude for problem-solving.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Creativity and hands-on problem solving.
- Good understanding of documentations in the gas processing facility including:
- P & ID (Piping and Instrumentation diagrams, Process Flow Sheets)
- General Assembly drawings
- Piping Isometric drawings
- Maintenance reporting
- Equipment status data readings
- Work permits
- Incidents/Accident reports
- MSDS.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Liaise with maintenance supervisor to oversee maintenance inspection, monitor inventory, assemble mechanical components and perform repairs.
- Report or correct any unsafe condition or practice and assist in organizing safety meetings, following operations excellence tenets and guidelines.
- Perform detailed analysis of pumps, compressors, motors, engines, and other mechanical equipment and compare actual operating data with work specified on data sheets.
- Collect and interpret operating and downtime data, recommend and execute corrective actions as required.
- Fabricate, assemble or install materials; set up and evaluate performance of equipment.
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records for all mechanical equipment
- Perform repairs on flanges, piping, valves, vessels, boilers/heaters, glycol regeneration system, mechanical refrigeration system, fuel gas system, water hydrant system, pressure regulators, heat exchangers, generators. etc.
- Report both normal and recurring conditions and recommend improvement as appropriate.
- Assist the maintenance planner in developing detailed plans/schedules for plant turn around maintenance (TAM).
- Observe all company safe work practices, job methods, code requirements, statutory requirements, and other SOP’s requirements.
- Liaise with the supply chain team to ensure availability of parts needed to ensure smooth operation of the plant.
- Perform skilled repair services of mechanical and basic structural systems and machinery equipment, including precision equipment alignment, installing pumps, motors, compressors, etc.
- Maintain designed maintenance chart and recording for the purpose of reference.
- Work with third party contractors during major equipment overhaul and ensure tasks are carried out in accordance with approved scope of work and industry best practices.
- Oversee maintenance inspection, monitor inventory, assemble mechanical components and perform repairs.
- Inspect equipment, conduct diagnosis of mechanical problems, establish performance baseline and make recommendations to supervisor for repair work to be carried out in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
- Provide maintenance best practices and mentorship to the less experienced technicians. Coordinate on-the-job training (OJT) for technicians.
- Maintain a clean work environment in line with established standards of hygiene and housekeeping.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned by Line Manager.
