Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Management:




  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.



Budgeting and Forecasting:




  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgets to align with organizational goals, Provide financial forecasts to guide business decisions.



Tax Compliance:




  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and handle tax filings, remittances, and audits.



Internal Controls:




  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.



Inventory Accounting:




  • Manage inventory accounting and reconcile stock movement with financial records.

  • Collaborate with store managers to ensure accurate stock reporting and valuation.



Team Leadership:




  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial operations.



Stakeholder Communication:




  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic financial planning.



Educational Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.

  • Experience in Retail or Manufacturing Industry is compulsory



Skills & Experience




  • Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 8 years in a senior accounting role in the retail industry.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems).

  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and tax laws in Nigeria.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
