Job Responsibilities




  • Works in the structured finance team to identify viable and bankable deals

  • Develops plans to achieve the Key Performance Indicator set for the business

  • Support the team lead in business development initiatives for the unit.

  • Seek opportunities to create new loans or principal investments, by leveraging contacts connections and referrals, etc.

  • Attend meetings with Borrowers/Investee companies to understand their needs and propose investment structure that meet such needs

  • Evaluate such investment opportunities, to ensure it fit with the overall investment strategy of the company.

  • Manage existing relationships for optimal performance, loan repayment and business continuity



Transaction Execution and Functions




  • Meet with prospective clients and design transaction structures based on the target company’s needs and financial/legal position, legal/regulatory requirements as well as market conditions.

  • Conduct feasibility and viability analysis of proposed transactions; perform financial analysis and in-depth reviews and impact analysis;

  • Review/develop transaction documents & financial models prepared by potential clients/targets, to determine whether such businesses portend viable investment opportunities.

  • Prepare and make investment presentations to Investment Committee and ensure that loans and/or investments are managed and operated in line with terms upon which approval was obtained.

  • Liaise with internal teams, to ensure timely transaction completion and effective management of the investment.

  • Ensure that disbursement process is swiftly finalised and concluded, once necessary conditions are met



Education and Experience




  • Bsc Finance/ Economics/ Statistics and any other related field of academics

  • ACCA/ACA is an added advantage

  • Successful completion of Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme would be an added advantage.

  • Minimum 8-10 years’ cognate experience (banking).



Competencies/Skills




  • Commercial Banking Experience required

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling knowledge

  • Ability to think clearly in critical situations

  • Successful record of managing a large portfolio

  • Good analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task and complete assignments with efficiency, adhering to deadlines

  • Excellent drafting and report writing skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with staff and partners at all levels.
