- A Site Engineer is responsible for managing construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- They act as a link between project managers, architects, and workers while overseeing day-to-day operations
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Supervision:
- Oversee construction work, ensuring it aligns with approved plans and specifications.
- Monitor progress and resolve technical issues on-site.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Quality Control & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure work adheres to safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to maintain construction standards.
- Enforce health and safety guidelines on-site.
Site Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain clear communication between the site team and project management.
- Handle workforce management, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, progress reports, and material usage.
- Prepare site reports and submit updates to project managers.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts and permits.
Cost & Resource Management:
- Assist in budgeting, cost estimation, and procurement of materials.
- Monitor resource utilization to avoid wastage and inefficiencies.
- Ensure timely delivery and proper storage of construction materials.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5-10 years of experience in construction site management
- Certification in safety standards (e.g., OSHA) is an advantage
- Professional Engineering license or certification e.g. (COREN)
