Job Summary




  • The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities to expand the company's market share and revenue within the steel and iron industry. 

  • This role requires a proactive and strategic individual with a strong understanding of sales principles, market dynamics, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.



Responsibilities




  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential customers, market trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Analyze market data to identify opportunities for new product offerings and market penetration.

  • Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.

  • Handle client inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.

  • Follow up on sales leads and close deals effectively.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market data.

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, logistics, and procurement, to ensure seamless order fulfillment and client satisfaction.

  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and sales strategies.



Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the steel and iron industry or related sectors.

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Strong understanding of the steel and iron market, including product knowledge and industry trends.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
