Salary: 250K (monthly).
The HR Officer in a food manufacturing company is responsible for managing the workforce, ensuring compliance with food safety and labor laws, and maintaining a productive work environment. They play a key role in recruitment, training, compliance, employee relations, and health & safety, ensuring that all employees adhere to food industry regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Workforce Management
- Hire and onboard production workers, quality control staff, and machine operators.
- Ensure employees meet hygiene, safety, and food handling standards.
- Manage shift scheduling, overtime, and seasonal workforce planning.
Employee Relations & Workplace Culture
- Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary issues.
- Foster a positive and compliant work environment in line with food industry ethics.
- Conduct employee engagement activities to boost morale and retention.
Training & Development
- Implement food safety and hygiene training (e.g., HACCP, GMP, allergen control).
- Organize workshops on proper handling of food products and machinery.
- Train employees on company policies, labor laws, and workplace ethics.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, OSHA).
- Collaborate with the quality and safety teams to enforce sanitation and hygiene protocols.
- Conduct audits and maintain records of workplace injuries, PPE usage, and food safety compliance.
Compensation, Benefits & Attendance
- Monitor employee attendance, overtime, and shift differentials.
- Process payroll, benefits, and worker compensation claims.
- Manage leave policies and health insurance benefits for employees.
Performance Management & Discipline
- Conduct performance appraisals and recommend training for skill improvement.
- Handle misconduct cases, policy violations, and absenteeism.
- Implement reward programs to recognize high-performing employees.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in HR within a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of labor laws, food safety regulations, and HACCP/GMP compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
Work Environment:
- Office-based with regular visits to the production floor.
- Requires coordination with quality control, production managers, and compliance teams.
