Job Brief:
The Human Resource / Legal Officer, is responsible for providing human resource and legal support to the organization, ensuring effective talent management, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and promoting a positive and productive work environment. The role of HR/Legal Officer include:
- Develop and implement human resource strategies to support the organization's goals and objectives.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, interviews, and job offers.
- Develop and implement employee onboarding programs to ensure successful integration into the organization.
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Develop and implement employee relations programs, including employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
- Conduct investigations and resolve employee complaints and grievances.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement performance management and development programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource records and databases.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to management and staff on all legal matters, including loan agreements, security documents, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including consumer credit laws, data protection laws, and anti-money laundering laws.
- Conduct legal research and provide opinions on complex legal issues.
- Collaborate with external counsel and other stakeholders on legal matters.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Manage and respond to legal claims and disputes.
- This role is critical to employee relationship, compliance with regulations and promoting a culture of compliance within the organization.

Human Resource Support & Employee Relations:
- Time-to-hire for new employees
- Quality of hire, as measured by new hire performance and retention
- Employee satisfaction rating
- Number of employee complaints and grievances resolved
- Employee retention rate
Performance Management:
- Number of performance evaluations completed
- Quality of performance evaluations, as measured by feedback from employees and management
HR Records and Compliance:
- Accuracy and completeness of human resource records
- Compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations
- Number of compliance-related issues or complaints
Legal Support:
- Timeliness and quality of legal advice and guidance
- Number of contracts and agreements reviewed and drafted
- Number of legal research projects completed
- Quality of legal research and opinion, as measured by feedback from management and external counsel
- Number of legal claims and disputes resolved
- Cost of dispute resolution, as measured by legal fees and settlements
- Quality of legal support, as measured by feedback from management and employees
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Number of human resource policies and procedures developed and implemented
- Effectiveness of policies and procedures, as measured by feedback from management and employees
Professional Development:
- Achieve a minimum of 1 training and development program per quarter
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in human resource management and law.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and and human resource software.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as human resources, law, or business administration.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, consumer credit laws, data protection laws, and anti-money laundering laws..
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional certification in human resource management and law, such as BL or LL.M., CIPM, SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR.
