Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Operator/Technician to join our maintenance team at Pally Food Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing generators and associated equipment to ensure uninterrupted power supply to our food processing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in generator operation and maintenance, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generator Operation: Operate generators and associated equipment to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the facility.


• Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on generators and associated equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and electrical system checks.


• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot generator and electrical system issues and identify root causes of problems.


• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure generators and associated equipment are in good working condition.


• Safety: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.


•  Documentation: Maintain accurate records of generator maintenance, repairs, and operating hours.


• Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance team members, production staff, and management to ensure efficient operations.


• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize generator operation and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Qualifications: OND or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.


• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Generator Operator/Technician in a food processing or manufacturing environment.


• Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as Generator Operator or Technical Training, are an added advantage.


• Technical Skills: Proficient in generator operation, maintenance, and repair, with knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols.


• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, good character and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

•  Work Environment: Fast-paced food processing facility with varying temperatures and noise levels.


• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 kg, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.


• Shift Work: May be required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
