Job Summary
- The Policy & Advocacy Officer is responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies that advance [Nonprofit Organization Name]’s mission and policy objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct policy research and analysis to identify key issues and opportunities for advocacy.
- Develop policy briefs, position papers, reports, and fact sheets to support advocacy efforts.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and political developments relevant to the organization’s mission.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence decision-makers at local, national, and international levels.
- Engage with policymakers, government agencies, and key stakeholders to advance policy recommendations.
- Coordinate and participate in advocacy campaigns, public events, and awareness initiatives.
- Build and maintain partnerships with civil society organizations, coalitions, and advocacy networks.
- Develop communication materials, including op-eds, press releases, and social media content, to amplify advocacy messages.
- Support capacity-building initiatives by training staff, partners, and community members on policy advocacy.
- Represent the organization in policy forums, meetings, and media engagements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in policy research, advocacy, or government relations, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of policy-making processes, legislative frameworks, and advocacy strategies.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience in coalition building, stakeholder engagement, and grassroots mobilization.
- Strong public speaking, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and advocacy tools.
