Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
- To assist in the delivery of a high quality after-school programme, providing a safe, engaging and fun environment for pupils, while supporting the Team Lead and other staff members.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
- The After school Programme Assistant will support the planning, supervision and delivery of activities, homework help and care for pupils attending the After school programme.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in planning and delivering activities, games and crafts
- Support pupils with homework and reading tasks
- Supervise pupils during activities, snacks and outdoor play
- Ensure student safety and supervision.
- Assist with behaviour management and conflict resolution
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Support the Team Lead with administrative tasks and programme preparation
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive programme.
- Encourage positive behaviour
- Prepare and maintain activity resources
- ensure students are safely picked up by authorized individuals.
- Support students' social and emotional wellbeing.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with children in a school or after-school setting
- Training in child care or education
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing circumstances
- First Aid and Safeguarding training
