Job Description
About the Role:
- As the Global Campaigns Officer for Climate, you will be responsible for some specific high-profile projects for the climate campaign, with the support of the Senior Campaigner. This might include a key role in coordinating our campaigning presence at a specific international summit or moment (e.g. COP, UN General Assembly or G20 meetings); project managing key campaigning products like stunts and events; and helping to monitor and evaluate our work.
You’ll:
- Keep the ‘engine’ of the global campaigns team by ensuring key working group and decision-making meetings are scheduled and internal communications compiled.
- Will work with policy, advocacy and communication colleagues across the organisation, including country, regional and global teams, as well as with external stakeholders.
- Be a self-starter, a great team player, a confident cross-cultural communicator and have strong project management skills.
Requirements
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Past background in campaigning, with an ability to evidence skills in public mobilisation (such as utilising communications, events, stunts, social media & other tactics to get the public behind your campaign).
- Strong personal commitment to improving access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) across the world, and tackling the impacts of climate change or health.
- Strong commitment to working in partnership with others in a collaborative and equitable way.
- Experience working within the public campaigning or development sector.
- Experience of working on complex multi-stakeholder projects related to public campaigning/ advocacy/influencing.
- Experience of knowledge management within a large, global organisation or experience of project management across multiple areas of work in a global context.
- Strong communication skills, particularly with the design of assets (i.e. presentations, online meetings, documents etc) and presenting to others.
- A keen political ‘savviness’ and proven application in order to achieve political change.
- Understanding of cultural differences and ability to work across countries and cultures to deliver successful projects.
- Excellent digital communication skills including social media and working virtually, as well as Microsoft Office (including Teams, Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
- Ability and willingness to undertake more routine tasks with equal enthusiasm as for special projects
- Ability to travel overseas (with advance notice and reasonable accommodations for caring responsibilities or disability).

Desirable Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to successfully manage complex and sensitive relationships to achieve collectively agreed goals.
- Experience working with colleagues in different country contexts.
- Previous experience with digital platforms or CRM packages
- Previous experience working with or leading groups of grassroots or community campaigners
- Experience producing communications products for public audiences
- Proficiency in another language, preferably French or Portuguese.
- Experience of working in Africa, Asia and/or Pacific country contexts (or with teams based in those regions)
