Job Responsibilties
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Provide regular financial updates and variance reports to management, identifying and explaining discrepancies.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop annual budgets and forecasts for multiple departments.
- Monitor budget performance, providing insights into cost-saving opportunities and revenue improvements.
- Recommend financial strategies to streamline operations and support the company’s growth objectives.
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including VAT, sales tax, and corporate income tax.
- Prepare and file required tax returns and financial documentation accurately and on time.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and applicable regulations, ensuring the company’s financial practices are up-to-date.
Cost Accounting & Waste Management Financials:
- Track recycling and waste management costs, allocating expenses appropriately across various product lines or processing stages.
- Analyze the profitability of different recycling operations or service lines, suggesting cost-optimization measures.
- Assist in pricing strategies by providing data on operational costs, labor, and materials.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls:
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Identify process inefficiencies, recommending and implementing solutions to improve financial workflows.
- Support periodic audits, coordinating with auditors to provide required information and documentation.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure alignment on financial processes and budgetary goals.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, banks, vendors) and serve as a point of contact for finance-related inquiries.
Job Requirements
- A Degree in Accounting or any other related course
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Accountant
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
- Relevant professional certification is a plus
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
