We are seeking a diligent and experienced Brooding Pen Supervisor to oversee the brooding of day-old chicks and ensure optimal conditions for their healthy growth and development.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations within the brooding pen, supervising attendants, and ensuring strict adherence to biosecurity and welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage all activities within the brooding pen.
Monitor the health, feeding, and overall welfare of chicks.
Ensure proper temperature, ventilation, lighting, and hygiene are maintained.
Keep accurate daily records of mortality, feed intake, weight gain, and medication.
Coordinate the timely vaccination and medication schedules.
Train and supervise pen attendants on best practices and safety protocols.
Ensure biosecurity measures are strictly followed.
Report abnormalities or health concerns promptly to the Farm Manager or Vet.
Maintain inventory of brooding supplies and request replenishment when necessary.
Requirements
OND / HND / BSc in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in poultry brooding or livestock supervision.
Strong knowledge of poultry management, especially in the early brooding stage.
Attention to detail and a passion for animal welfare.
