Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced fleet officer to manage and oversee our fleet operations across Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of solid experience in fleet management within the FMCG or e-commerce sector and will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and cost-efficiency of all fleet activities. The role is based in Ikeja, Lagos, and involves nationwide coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the company’s fleet across various locations in Nigeria.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
- Monitor and control fleet operating costs, including fuel usage, repairs, and maintenance.
- Implement fleet policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with federal and state regulations and licensing requirements.
- Coordinate driver recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Track and analyze fleet data using GPS and fleet management systems to improve routing and efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports on fleet utilization, incidents, and cost management for senior management.
- Collaborate with logistics, supply chain, and operations teams to align fleet operations with business objectives.
- Ensure prompt resolution of fleet-related issues and breakdowns
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transport management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years and maximum of 6 years of hands-on experience in fleet management, preferably in the FMCG or e-commerce industry.
- Proven experience managing fleets across multiple states or regions in Nigeria.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management software and GPS tracking tools.
- Excellent understanding of transport regulations, compliance, and safety standards in Nigeria.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Transport Management or Logistics (an added advantage).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
