Responsibilities




  • Analyze credit profiles of loan applications by reviewing credit reports, scores, financial statements, and other relevant documents.

  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses applying for loans and determine approval, modification, or rejection of loan applications based on risk assessment.

  • Develop and apply lending criteria to minimize risk while ensuring profitable lending decisions.

  • Continuously monitor the credit profiles of existing clients, especially those with active loans or credit lines.

  • Prepare regular reports on the status of credit portfolios, highlighting any emerging risks, trends, or opportunities to improve performance.

  • Present findings and insights to senior management to guide decision-making regarding credit profiles.

  • Oversee the end-to-end process for reviewing and approving loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and external regulations.

  • Ensure that all documentation for loan application are accurate and complete before processing and approving loan applications.

  • Assist in the creation and refinement of lending policies, ensuring that they align with industry regulations, best practices, and company goals.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (e.g., fair lending, anti-money laundering) in credit evaluation and approval processes.

  • Implement and enforce internal controls to identify and mitigate potential fraud risks related to credit profiles and loan applications.



Requirements and Skills




  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

  • Advanced certifications is an added advantage

  • 3-5 years of experience in credit administration, risk analysis, portfolio management in a commercial bank or finance houses

  • Experience in analyzing credit reports and assessing financial statements

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.

  • Proficiency in credit analysis tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint),

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to clients and colleagues.

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
