JOB OVERVIEW



Our client is in need of an experienced and dedicated Head Pharmacist to lead and manage our pharmacy operations. The successful candidate will oversee the dispensing of medications, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, manage pharmacy staff, and maintain excellent service standards. The Head Pharmacist will play a crucial role in patient care, drug inventory management, and quality assurance.



RESPONSIBILITIES




  1. Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy and ensure smooth workflow.

  2. Supervise, train, and manage pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians.

  3. Ensure accurate dispensing and proper labeling of medications.

  4. Monitor inventory levels and place timely orders to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.

  5. Maintain strict adherence to pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.

  6. Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, interactions, and storage.

  7. Implement and monitor quality control procedures.

  8. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes.

  9. Prepare and submit regular reports on pharmacy operations to management.

  10. Handle customer complaints and resolve medication-related issues.



 



EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE




  1. Bachelor's, Masters or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.

  2. Master’s degree in Pharmacy Administration or Healthcare Management.

  3. Valid pharmacy license.

  4. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a pharmacy setting in a supervisory or leadership role.

  5. Certification in Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) or equivalent.



SKILLS AND COMPETENCY




  1. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and best practices.

  2. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  3. Proficiency in pharmacy management software and systems.

  4. High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

  5. Experience in both hospital and retail pharmacy settings.
