DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To be the source of reference within the Group/Dept. in facilitating and promoting the understanding of OR and compliance requirements.


• Lead and support implementation of OR initiatives for the Group/Dept.


• Proactively communicate with the GH/DH and BORM on operational risk issues.


• Escalate significant events to GH/DH /BORM/Business Head as appropriate.


• Coordinate and consolidate operational risks/issues and loss reporting of the group/dept. for the reporting to the BORG through the GH/DH and BORM. Ensure data accuracy and completeness.


• Design and implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management. Ensure effectiveness of controls for compliance monitoring and risk management.


• Undertake and/or coordinate periodic business monitoring (self-assessment) activities within  the Business Unit and escalate findings and or breaches to GH/DH and BORM, when they  occur through the self-reporting tool.


•  Ensure risks and issues identified are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.


• Assist BORM in the implementation of OR framework or other relevant OR initiatives.


• Identify gaps and conduct staff training on OR and compliance for all staff in group/dept.

EDUCATION

First degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, entry level banking experience

EXPERIENCE

0 - 2 years’ minimum experience working in assurance, compliance or related financial services area, Experience in the implementing and advisory on compliance programs
