Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced and passionate Mathematics educator to join our academic team as the Head of Department (HOD), Mathematics. 


• The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of curriculum development, and a commitment to academic excellence. 


• As HOD, you will be responsible for overseeing the Mathematics department, mentoring teachers, and ensuring high-quality instruction and student performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership and direction for the Mathematics department.


• Develop and implement effective teaching strategies, curriculum plans, and assessment methods.


• Monitor and evaluate the performance of Mathematics teachers and provide support for professional growth.


• Organize departmental meetings and contribute to overall school improvement initiatives.


• Ensure the delivery of high-quality Mathematics lessons that meet academic standards.


• Analyze students' performance data to improve teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes.


• Foster a positive and stimulating learning environment for both students and staff.


• Collaborate with school leadership and other departments to support cross-curricular initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of B.Ed./B.Sc. in Pure or Applied Mathematics.


• A Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in a related field is an added advantage.


• At least 4 years of teaching experience in Mathematics.


• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role as HOD or equivalent.


• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring abilities.
