Role Description

• Ikeyi Shittu & Co. is looking for a self-motivated and result-driven lawyer with 6 to 7 years cognate post-call experience in litigation and commercial transactions to join our team.


• The ideal candidate should possess excellent knowledge of any of taxation law, labour and employment law, energy law, maritime law, administrative law, law of secured transactions, privacy law, IT law, and engineering and construction law.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee complex legal cases from inception to resolution.


• Draft, review and negotiate legal documents and contracts.


• Mentor and supervise junior associates.


• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.


• Collaborate with partners on strategic initiatives.


• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

• Educational background knowledge in; Taxation, Energy law, Labour law, Secured transactions.


• LL.B degree from an accredited University in Nigeria and Call to Bar Certificate with a first-class or second-class upper degree. LL.M or other advanced degrees are a plus.


• Minimum of 6 to 7 years of cognate experience as a practicing lawyer with significant experience in Litigation and Commercial Transactions.


• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.


• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
