Job Summary




  • The Inventory Assistant is responsible for material management, including acquiring and distributing stock such as beef, fish & seafood, poultry, goat, and ram products. 

  • This role ensures accurate inventory records, optimum stock levels, and adherence to quality standards



Tasks




  • Prepare purchase orders, receive, store, and issue goods while managing stock levels.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems and verify supply invoices against purchase orders.

  • Prepare reports on inventory adjustments for damaged or spoiled items and coordinate purchasing and warehousing functions.

  • Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotes.

  • Record and track inventory receipts and issuance to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Reconcile physical stock with system records and oversee orderly stock arrangement for easy retrieval.

  • Ensure goods in the cold room are properly stored and protected.

  • Conduct daily stock-taking and confirm periodic inventory with staff.

  • Supervise offloading and arrangement of goods for accessibility.

  • Monitor stock movement in and out of the cold room and prepare weekly reports, including consignment details and inventory balances.

  • Provide excellent service to both existing and new customers to maintain satisfaction.

  • Manage cycle counting programs and adopt best practices for inventory control.

  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.



Requirements




  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in inventory or store management.

  • Bachelor’s degree/HND in Inventory Management, Accounting, Logistics, or a related field is an advantage.

  • Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with computerized inventory systems is a plus.
