Job Summary
- The Medical Officer is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients in accordance with established medical protocols.
- The role supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and ensures clinical excellence while collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Provide medical consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Attend to emergency cases promptly and provide necessary interventions.
- Document all clinical encounters comprehensively in patient records.
- Prescribe medications appropriately and monitor patient response to treatment.
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary and ensure continuity of care.
Patient Care & Safety:
- Uphold patient dignity, confidentiality, and rights at all times.
- Participate in ward rounds, case reviews, and discharge planning.
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Ensure prompt response to patient concerns and emergencies.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work collaboratively with nurses, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, and other members of the care team.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and trainings.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Comply with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Submit daily, weekly, or monthly activity reports as required.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Ethical & Professional Conduct:
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior at all times.
- Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and professional development.
- Maintain valid medical licenses and certifications as required by regulatory bodies.
