Job Summary




  • The Medical Officer is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients in accordance with established medical protocols. 

  • The role supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and ensures clinical excellence while collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals.



Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:




  • Provide medical consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.

  • Attend to emergency cases promptly and provide necessary interventions.

  • Document all clinical encounters comprehensively in patient records.

  • Prescribe medications appropriately and monitor patient response to treatment.

  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary and ensure continuity of care.



Patient Care & Safety:




  • Uphold patient dignity, confidentiality, and rights at all times.

  • Participate in ward rounds, case reviews, and discharge planning.

  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control protocols.

  • Ensure prompt response to patient concerns and emergencies.



Collaboration & Communication:




  • Work collaboratively with nurses, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, and other members of the care team.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and trainings.



Administrative Responsibilities:




  • Comply with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and standard operating procedures.

  • Submit daily, weekly, or monthly activity reports as required.

  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.



Ethical & Professional Conduct:




  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior at all times.

  • Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and professional development.

  • Maintain valid medical licenses and certifications as required by regulatory bodies.
