Job Overview




  • We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver for our client in the Energy & Oil & Gas sector based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. 

  • This individual will be responsible for safely transporting goods over long distances. 

  • The ideal candidate should have a valid driver's license, at least 3 years of experience operating low-bed and high-bed trucks, and the ability to handle the physical demands of the job. 

  • The position requires someone who can be on the road for extended periods and is capable of handling the logistics of transporting sensitive materials in the energy sector.



Key Responsibilities




  • Safely drive low-bed and high-bed trucks to transport goods and materials as instructed by the company.

  • Ensure the proper handling of goods, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and without damage.

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring it is in good working condition.

  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.

  • Follow traffic laws and safety regulations to avoid accidents and ensure safety on the road.

  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and management to report any delays, issues, or changes to the delivery schedule.

  • Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, performing regular checks, and reporting any issues to management.

  • Ensure all required documentation such as delivery forms, trip sheets, and driver logs are accurate and submitted on time.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures for loading, unloading, and securing cargo.



Qualifications & Requirements




  • Minimum educational qualification: SSCE.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in driving low-bed and high-bed trucks.

  • Valid driver’s license for the type of truck to be driven (Heavy Goods Vehicle License preferred).

  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

  • Reside in Rivers State, preferably in Port Harcourt.

  • Must be physically fit and capable of handling long hours and the physical demands of the job.

  • Ability to resume immediately or on short notice.

  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance with regulations, and maintaining the integrity of the vehicle.

  • Familiarity with routes across Port Harcourt and the surrounding region is an advantage
