The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing solar PV systems for commercial and industrial (C&I) clients.
This role involves conducting site assessments, performing energy yield analysis, creating detailed electrical and structural designs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
The engineer collaborates with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver cost-effective, high-performance solar solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform site evaluations and shade analysis using tools like PVsyst and Helioscope
Design PV system layouts, including electrical schematics, mounting structures, and interconnection plans.
Conduct energy production modeling and financial feasibility studies.
Ensure designs meet local codes, utility requirements, and client specifications.
Prepare technical documentation, bills of materials (BOM), and permit drawings.
Support procurement and construction teams with design clarifications.
Stay updated on best practices and industry trends (battery storage, hybrid systems, smart inverters).
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in electrical /Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in C&I solar PV system design.
Proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, Homer Pro, AutoCAD/ SketchUp Layout).
Knowledge of NEC, IEC, and local regulatory standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
