Job Role/Description:



The Account Officer will be responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of the institution. This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting processes, maintaining accurate ledgers, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and institutional policies. The Account Officer will work closely with the Head Accountant, school management, and external auditors to ensure efficient financial operations.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.

  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents.

  • Monitor school fees and other income collections; reconcile student payment records.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually).

  • Track expenditures and ensure proper allocation of funds.

  • Manage petty cash and bank transactions.

  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of bank statements and ledger accounts.

  • Assist in internal and external audits.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements such as tax filings, pension contributions, etc.

  • Support administrative and procurement-related financial documentation as needed.



 



Job Requirement/Qualification:



Education & Experience:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar accounting or finance role, preferably in the education sector.



Skills & Competencies:




  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
