Join our Tax team


Our Global Tax Team provides support and advice for all tax accrual processes for Baker Hughes. This includes forecasting, tax provision, quarterly, annual close, and settlement. We are in contact with local and regional business controller-ship teams to provide expert tax advice and processes to the business.

As a Regional Tax Controller SSA, you will be a functional Subject Matter Expert in tax accounting, compliance, forecasting, modelling and analysis. You will play a leading role in knowledge management to share and convey information about new approaches and best practices.


You will be responsible for:



  • Preparing the US GAAP quarterly and year-end tax provisions ensuring integrity and accuracy.

  • Collecting and resolving open topics related to quarterly and annual US GAAP reporting.

  • Forecasting of total tax expense and cash tax payments.

  • Identifying, analysing, communicating, and advising Tax accounting issues proactively with both tax and non-tax management personnel by maintaining current knowledge of local tax laws, regulations, accounting, and reporting standards.

  • Leading the meetings by articulating and providing guidance regarding complex income tax accounting matters with management, statutory financial statement auditors, and other external parties.

  • Coordinating and support on the withholding tax compliance, provisioning, and forecasting.

  • Supporting new accounting systems and ensuring automation of tax accounting, Tax audit tracker and other new Tax tools.

  • Assisting and supporting the tax audit inquires and tax return compliance process.

  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of changes to local tax law.

  • Reviewing the Return to Provisions following completion of the tax return cycle.

  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with SOX procedures.

To be successful in this role you will:



  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field from an accredited university or college.

  • Have a minimum 7 years of experience in Tax Accounting within Big 4 or US multinational.

  • Have a good working knowledge of ASC 740, FIN 48 and other US GAAP tax accounting concepts.

  • Have a good understanding of local countries’ tax laws and regulations in the region.

  • Have the Knowledge of local Statutory financial statements principles in the region is a plus.

  • Have experience in using OneSource Tax Provision.

  • Have a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate ( please indicate clearly on resume)

  • Be process-oriented and have critical thinking skills.
