Job Summary




  • We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management activities across complex and high-value projects. 

  • The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of financial and contractual management, ensuring optimal value delivery while maintaining compliance with legal and quality standards.

  • The Senior Quantity Surveyor will act as a strategic partner to project teams, clients, and contractors to drive efficient project execution from pre-contract to project completion.



Key Responsibilities




  • Manage the preparation and analysis of cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender documents, and contract documentation.

  • Lead cost planning and control activities from feasibility stage through to final account.

  • Administer and manage contracts, including preparation of interim valuations, final accounts, and negotiation of claims and variations.

  • Provide accurate forecasts of project costs and monitor budgets against expenditures.

  • Advise on procurement strategies and contract selection.

  • Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to project costs.

  • Prepare detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Negotiate and resolve contractual disputes and claims effectively.

  • Lead value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

  • Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveyors and other cost management team members.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, health and safety laws, and ethical practices.



Requirements




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Professional membership such as MRICS, MNIQS, or equivalent (Chartered status preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership QS role.

  • Extensive experience across pre-contract and post-contract phases in major construction projects (e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments).

  • Strong understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, NEC, etc.).

  • Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar tools) and MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, analytical, and financial reporting skills.

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple high-value projects simultaneously, and make critical decisions under pressure.



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.

  • Experience with projects involving sustainable or green building practices.

  • Strong network within the construction, real estate, or infrastructure sectors.
