Duties and Responsibilities:



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:




  • Analysis/design of mechanical works for proposed and existing structures per engineering practice.

  • Ensure proper scoping of all mechanical engineering works and give adequate reports.

  • Coordinate and monitor design works and other related processes by developing, work breakdown structure and, program of works.

  • Responsible for site monitoring (Pre & post contract award)

  • Ensure total adherence to Mechanical engineering/Project management processes and procedures.

  • Prepare and present reports as required.

  • Provide project leadership in various types of mechanical projects

  • Responsible for value engineering and cost control.

  • Manage all aspects of the projects, including design, analysis, and all aspects of project engineering work.

  • Work with team members to effectively complete projects in line with the scope, time, cost and quality set.

  • Draw up project plans and designs using computer-assisted engineering and design software.

  • Estimate material, construction, and project timescales.

  • Make sure all projects meet mechanical and construction safety regulations.

  • Provide a varied range of mechanical design services to Afriland and its clients.

Education and Experience:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum of Second class lower)

  • An additional qualification is an added advantage

  • At least 6 years of direct experience in Design & Construction work

  • Project management experience

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite Package – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Visio and MS Project

  • Effective use of Autocad

  • Practical experience in construction quality and safety

  • Registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)

  • Membership of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) will be an added advantage
