Job Summary
- The Head of Business will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations, business development, and strategic direction of the engineering workshop.
- This role requires a dynamic leader with strong technical knowledge, business acumen, and the ability to drive efficiency, innovation, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Growth:
- Develop and implement business strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue.
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and client relationships.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
- Operations & Production Management:
- Oversee the production process, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure timely delivery of manufactured products to INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL clients.
- Optimize resource utilization, including materials, manpower, and equipment.
Sales & Customer Relations:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, feed mills, poultry farms, and other stakeholders.
- Work with the sales team to identify customer needs and tailor product offerings accordingly.
- Ensure excellent after-sales support and customer satisfaction.
Financial & Budget Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure pricing strategies align with market conditions and company goals.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labour regulations.
Technical & Product Innovation:
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
- Oversee research and development of new products and improvements to existing products.
- Ensure adherence to engineering and manufacturing standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or related industries, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of machine parts, equipment, and tools used in feed mills, poultry farms, and agriculture.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, and operational management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to drive change, improve processes, and implement best practices.
