Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding curriculum requirements and creating syllabus, lesson plans, and educational content that satisfy these requirements.


• Teaching musical instruments like piano, guitar, and violin.


• Helping students understand and read music notes and scales.


• Training students for events, musical performances, and concerts.


• Analysing the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of students and structuring lessons and assessments around them.


• Adjusting teaching methods to suit different groups of learners.


• Creating engaging, stimulating lesson plans and asking frequent questions to make sure students are on track.


• Reporting any progress issues to the head of the department, as well as the parents.


• Attending meetings, training sessions, workshops, conferences, and other continuing education initiatives.


• Providing extra support to students who require it, and more challenging tasks to those who are ahead of the class.


• Keeping the line of communication open between students, staff, and parents.

Requirements:

• Degree in Music or related field


• Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a music teacher (full-time or part-time)


• Relevant music teaching certifications may be required


• Strong instrumental skills and knowledge of music theory


• Patience, innovation, and effective classroom management skills


• A completed teaching apprenticeship would be advantageous.


• Familiarity with interactive teaching tools and 21st-century teaching methods


• TRCN Certification is an added advantage
