- The Wire Boy at EPPL Factory supports the smooth operation of the paper machine's wire section. He assists in threading, cleaning, and monitoring the wire section to ensure consistent paper sheet formation and minimize production interruptions. This position is vital to maintaining cleanliness, efficiency, and safety in the wet-end area of the paper machine

- Assist in threading the paper sheet at machine start-up and during breaks.
- Monitor the condition of the wire and report irregularities.
- Ensure the wire section is clean, including the removal of pulp buildup and water.
- Clean dewatering elements and support drainage efficiency.
- Observe for sheet misalignment, wire damage, or web breaks and immediately alert the paper machine operator.
- Assist in the removal and disposal of broken paper.
- Ensure cleaning tools and materials are available and in good condition.
- Follow all PPE and safety rules, especially near moving equipment and slippery surfaces.
- Attend and participate in safety briefings and drills.
- Support fellow wet end crew members and follow instructions from the paper machine operator and supervisor.
- Communicate effectively and work cooperatively during the shift.

Skills and Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a 1st Class Boiler Operator is required.
- Prior factory or machine-side experience is an added advantage.
Technical and Behavioral Skills:
- Basic knowledge of paper machine operations, especially the wet end.
- Physically fit and able to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
- Good observational skills and quick response to instructions.
- Team spirit, discipline, and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to shift work and production routines.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to moving machinery, wet surfaces, and noise.
- Requires standing for long periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
Employment Type:
- Full-time with rotating shift schedule.
- May include overtime, weekend, and public holiday work as required.
