The Assistant ETP Operator supports the operation and maintenance of the Environmental Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure effective wastewater treatment and compliance with environmental regulations. This role involves assisting in daily plant operations, conducting routine checks, performing maintenance tasks, and adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the operation of wastewater treatment processes, including monitoring and adjusting equipment as directed.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the safe and efficient handling of wastewater treatment activities.
Support QC activities by assisting in the collection of samples and conducting basic tests to monitor effluent quality.
Record test results accurately and report any deviations to the ETP Supervisor.
Participate in routine maintenance tasks for ETP equipment, such as pumps, filters, and chemical dosing systems.
Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and notifying supervisors of equipment malfunctions.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all ETP operations.
Follow environmental regulations and company policies related to wastewater treatment and disposal.
Maintain accurate records of ETP operations, including log entries, maintenance activities, and test results.
Assist in preparing reports summarizing daily operations and incidents for review by management.
Collaborate with ETP operators, QC technicians, and maintenance teams to achieve operational goals and resolve issues promptly.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure coordinated efforts and operational efficiency.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
Seek opportunities for skill development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the ETP.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional coursework or certification in environmental science, water treatment, or related fields is beneficial
2–3 years of work experience in ETP operation
Basic understanding of wastewater treatment principles and equipment operations.
Ability to follow instructions, operate basic machinery, and perform routine tasks effectively.
Attention to detail for recording data, conducting tests, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Strong commitment to safety practices and environmental compliance.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
