Job Summary
- The Boiler Mechanical In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the mechanical integrity, maintenance, and performance of all boiler systems within the cogeneration plant.
- This role ensures the boilers are operated and maintained safely, efficiently, and reliably in compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise daily mechanical operations and inspections of boiler systems
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical failures, leaks, and abnormal conditions
- Review boiler efficiency and implement improvement measures
- Ensure availability of critical spares and materials for boiler maintenance
- Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures and industry standards
- Lead commissioning, shutdown planning, execution, and maintenance activities etc
- Coordinate with operations, electrical, and I&C team for integrated operation and maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on operation, inspections, breakdowns, and maintenance.
- Train and supervise junior staff, including assistants and technicians.
Educational Qualifications and Work Experience
- B.Sc. HND or any equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Certification in Boiler Operation & Maintenance preferred)
- Minimum 15 years in boiler maintenance and operation in cogeneration or thermal power plants, with at least 7 years in a supervisory or lead engineer role.
