Job Summary
- The Boiler Mechanical Technician is responsible for executing mechanical maintenance, repair, and inspection activities on boiler systems and associated auxiliaries.
- The role ensures high equipment reliability through proper upkeep of pressure parts, valves, pipelines, and rotating equipment in compliance with safety and quality standards
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance of boilers and auxiliaries
- Inspect and repair all mechanical equipment such as valves, pipelines, fuel systems, and ash handling components, pumps, gearboxes…etc
- Conduct thickness measurements and visual inspections of boiler tubes and shell.
- Replace gaskets, repair leaks, and ensure pressure integrity.
- Assist in shutdown maintenance and overhauling works.
- Align and maintain ID/FD fans, soot blowers, and other rotating parts.
- Record maintenance work completed and report defects or anomalies.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures during work.
- Coordinate with operations team for equipment isolation and handover.
- Maintain tools, spares, and cleanliness in work areas
Educational Qualifications and Work Experience
- ND or any equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Certified Boiler Maintenance Technician preferred)
- Minimum 5 years in boiler mechanical maintenance in cogeneration or thermal power plants.
