Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of Logistics and Transport to lead our logistics and transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to end transportation processes, ensuring that goods and services are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role requires a strong strategic leader with experience in logistics planning, transportation management, team leadership, and optimizing supply chain performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics and transportation strategies to align with organizational goals and growth objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of logistics, transportation, and supply chain professionals to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, clients, and internal departments.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to continually improve logistics processes.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of logistics and transport functions, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
- Manage transportation networks, including fleet management, third-party providers, and distribution channels.
- Ensure all logistics operations comply with safety, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Monitor expenses, ensure efficient use of resources, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize operations and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, inventory, and warehousing, to streamline operations and ensure seamless supply chain processes
- Leverage data analytics to forecast demand, plan routes, and manage capacity effectively.
Qualification/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an additional advantage, membership of a professional body and other certifications.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in logistics and transportation management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership or director role.
