Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Food Nutritionist to design and oversee specialized nutrition programs for children with diverse developmental and medical needs. This role involves assessing individual dietary requirements, developing meal plans, educating caregivers and staff, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to promote optimal health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Assess nutritional needs of children with physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities.
- Develop individualized meal plans that meet dietary restrictions and medical conditions (e.g., autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, allergies).
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition programs.
- Provide guidance to kitchen staff and caregivers on food preparation and dietary guidelines.
- Conduct nutrition education sessions for staff and families.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, therapists, and special education teams to integrate nutrition into broader care plans.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on nutritional progress and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and ethical standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Relevant Certifications
- Minimum 2 years experience working with children, preferably those with special needs.
- Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and dietary planning for developmental disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
