- We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Analyst to lead the assessment and evaluation of credit applications for SME loans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth credit analysis, assessing risk, and making sound recommendations to support the company’s lending decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of SME business operations and financial statements.
Requirements
Financial Statement Analysis:
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of SME clients.
- Ascertain the Profitability, Liquidity, and Leverage ratio of the business to determine repayment capacity.
- Recommend eligible loan amounts for approval
Credit Risk assessment:
- Evaluate credit risk associated with SME loan request and provide recommendations on credit limits, terms and condition.
- Evaluate economic, socio political and regulatory factors that may affect the continuity or operations of the SME client.
Collateral Recommendation:
- Recommend appropriate collateral mix acceptable by the bank to act as a buffer in the event of loan default
- Ensure assets to be pledged as collateral are adequately valued by the Bank’s accredited valuers.
- Ensure the value of the asset to be pledged as collateral meets the Bank’s stipulated collateral coverage.
Loan Interview
- Communicate with clients to gather financial information, clarify credit report discrepancies and provide credit decisions.
- Visit the client’s business premises for advanced due diligence depending on the loan amount or threshold set by the bank.
- Loan performance Review and Reporting
- Review the performance of SME portfolio on a monthly basis
- Generate a report to Management showing the collection efficiency rate of SME loans processed monthly.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- BSC/HND
- CIBN/ MCP is an added advantage
