As an Account Assistant at Nigerian NewsDirect’s Ota office, you will support day‑to‑day accounting functions, help maintain accurate financial records, and assist the finance team in ensuring timely processing of transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Record daily transactions (receipts, payments) in the accounting system
Prepare and process supplier invoices, expense claims, and purchase orders
Reconcile bank statements and petty‑cash accounts
Assist with payroll data entry and time‑sheet verification
Maintain organized filing of financial documents and supporting paperwork
Help prepare monthly financial reports and budgets
Respond to basic queries from internal staff and external partners about invoices, payments, and account balances
Support audits by gathering required documents and explanations
Qualifications & Skills
Education: HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Experience: 0–2 years in an accounting support role (internships or industrial training accepted)
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, basic formulas)
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Personal Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time‑management skills
