Job Purpose
- The HR/Admin Manager will be responsible for managing and improving employee performance across the organization through a structured performance management system.
- In addition, the role will oversee general HR operations and administrative functions to support the company’s growth and efficiency.
- This position is central to building a high-performance culture that aligns with the company’s values and goals in the food retail sector.
Core Focus: Performance Management:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve a company-wide performance management system.
- Collaborate with departmental heads (e.g., operations, production, sales) to set clear KPIs and performance benchmarks for employees.
- Lead bi-annual or quarterly performance appraisal cycles, ensuring timely and fair evaluations.
- Provide guidance and training to managers on effective performance conversations, feedback, and documentation.
- Identify high and low performers and develop performance improvement plans (PIPs) where needed.
- Align performance management outcomes with rewards, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor productivity and service quality, particularly in customer-facing roles (e.g., retail stores and customer service).
- Analyze performance data and present regular reports to management with insights and recommendations.
Additional HR Responsibilities:
- Work with the HR team in recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and HR regulations Manage employee engagement initiatives and internal communication efforts.
- Handle disciplinary processes, conflict resolution, and exit interviews.
- Coordinate staff training and capacity-building efforts in collaboration with department heads.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in HR, with at least 2 years of experience in performance management.
- HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is an advantage.
- Experience in the retail, food service, or hospitality industry preferred.
