Job Purpose




  • The HR/Admin Manager will be responsible for managing and improving employee performance across the organization through a structured performance management system.

  • In addition, the role will oversee general HR operations and administrative functions to support the company’s growth and efficiency. 

  • This position is central to building a high-performance culture that aligns with the company’s values and goals in the food retail sector.



Core Focus: Performance Management:




  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a company-wide performance management system.

  • Collaborate with departmental heads (e.g., operations, production, sales) to set clear KPIs and performance benchmarks for employees.

  • Lead bi-annual or quarterly performance appraisal cycles, ensuring timely and fair evaluations.

  • Provide guidance and training to managers on effective performance conversations, feedback, and documentation.

  • Identify high and low performers and develop performance improvement plans (PIPs) where needed.

  • Align performance management outcomes with rewards, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

  • Monitor productivity and service quality, particularly in customer-facing roles (e.g., retail stores and customer service).

  • Analyze performance data and present regular reports to management with insights and recommendations.



Additional HR Responsibilities:




  • Work with the HR team in recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management.

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and HR regulations Manage employee engagement initiatives and internal communication efforts.

  • Handle disciplinary processes, conflict resolution, and exit interviews.

  • Coordinate staff training and capacity-building efforts in collaboration with department heads.



Qualifications & Experience




  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years in HR, with at least 2 years of experience in performance management.

  • HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is an advantage.

  • Experience in the retail, food service, or hospitality industry preferred.



Key Skills & Competencies:




  • Expertise in designing and managing performance management frameworks

  • Strong coaching and interpersonal communication skills

  • High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software (e.g., HRIS, performance tracking tools)

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple store locations or team.
