Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery:
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that incorporate both British and Nigerian curriculum requirements for Geography and Global Perspectives.
- Teach key concepts in human and physical geography including climate, ecosystems, population, development, urbanization, and sustainability.
- Foster inquiry and interdisciplinary thinking through Global Perspectives topics such as global conflict, the environment, cultural identity, and globalization.
- Prepare and administer assessments aligned with IGCSE, A-level, and WAEC/NECO standards.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support academic growth and critical thinking.
- Maintain detailed records of student achievement, attendance, and participation.
- Create a respectful and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration and active student participation.
- Use classroom management strategies that reflect both British and Nigerian educational practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, International Relations, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) desirable.
- Demonstrated experience teaching both British and Nigerian curricula.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in Geography or Global Perspectives.
- Strong understanding of global issues, geographic inquiry, and interdisciplinary learning.
- Proficient in using digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
